Microsoft Application Network Portal

SharePoint portal to simplify the process of managing the third party SAAS Apps integration/modification requests. Also, a service to log tickets automatically and assign once the request is submitted through portal.

Business Problem

  • Manual process for on-boarding ISV SaaS Apps and ISVs used to send the requests over the email with very minimal information.
  • FedSSO team had to start the communication, request for missing data, create the TFS entries and track the requests manually until the closure.
  • ISVs had no visibility on the progress of their requests which was quite frustrating for them.
  • The overall process was not scalable to support large volumes of requests in peak business months which was a big worry for Microsoft Azure AD team.
  • Also, update App requests, Password SSO requests and User Provisioning requests were not getting tracked and closed in given time leading to lot of customer dissatisfaction.

Solution

  • Create a portal, where ISVs can submit their requests and we get all the validated and required information in one go.
  • Provide a portal where customers select the options based on the type of request they want to submit.
  • Validation of information on the basis of their authentication protocols.
  • Edit the submitted details if required and track the status of integration.
  • ISVs to be notified by emails automatically on each status change.

Why is the solution unique

The portal was able to totally cover all the things that were missing during the request through email. Now team was able to complete the integration without reading the long mail threads as we had all the details in well managed form. It drastically reduced the time of data collection and thus made the application integration faster. The projected value of the idea for the customer accounted to around 1,26,000 USD.
